Cheeseburger and Fries: The Broadway Musical

Okay, maybe Off Broadway. Maybe Off-off-off-Broadway, even.

But anyway, yes, I'm currently writing my next play, entitled Cheeseburger and Fries, which tells the true story of two backwoods louts who are devoted to the noble art of street busking. Together, they learn to face the opaque amorphous horror that is modern humanity, via confrontationally atonal bluesmanship.

Along the way we also meet their mysterious friend Ed, who has a penchant for making surreal and oracular pronouncements, often at the most socially inopportune times.

The story is true because Mr. Dockery and I are Cheeseburger and Fries, and under these names we were guerilla street performers on the streets of Lexington, Richmond, Berea, Renfro Valley, and other Kentucky cities in the 1990s.

Look for "Cheeseburger and Fries" to open in Louisville next Spring!

"It's all true!"

Sounds like it would make a great rural road film like Oh Brother Where Art Thou?, Jodorowsky's El Topo or Fando y Lis; or Rob Zombie's The Devil's Rejects.
