Click

Hey. I can't blog here right now, because I'm defragging my hard drive and ripping mp3s for my podcast and busy writing an HTML blog post on another blog on WordPress which I'll then mirror on yet another of my blogs on Tumblr - in plain text, so that people with RSS can read it better, see, and then I gotta run it up the flagpole on Digg and Stumbleupon and FriendFeed and see who salutes, and also hype it to all my many many good friends who aren't really friends on Facebook and Orkut and Plurk ....except it's hard to get all this done because my friends who aren't really friends from Tagged and Friendster and Hi5 keep SMS messaging me to let me know about some new vlog they've just put up on YouTube with a rant about their opinions of some other video someone else just made about some drama between their fantasy characters on MafiaWars, World of Warcraft and Petville. And some guy from New Delhi called "BBC for BBW" keeps Tweeting me to tell me he likes my profile on some porno chat site that I don't even recall being a member of because I despise chat rooms (they're filled with psychos, pederasts, stalkers, roleplayers, "cuckold" idiots, "doms" looking for "subs", clothing fetishists, Furries, and people who now live 24-7 (online) as their Klingon persona and won't stop Whispurring me scans of their own crudely drawn anime/manga pictures and Slash fanfic stories about characters from TV shows I've never heard of. And now this chick I met on Second Life just popped up on the Gmail chat to tell me she just tried to reach me on Yahoo Messenger to let me know I need to update my LinkedIn profile before the outdated information ends up on the Wayback Machine, and also to ask me a trivia question about Katy Perry so she can correct a Wikipedia article that she's been in a flamewar with trolls over for months now - I don't know the answer and ask her why she doesn't just Google it but she says she likes Bing better and it's more fun to ask questions on Yahoo Answers anyway. Oh, damn it, sorry folks, gotta go, must reboot my computer now and run Spybot and Ad-Aware and AVG because I just got a warning about a virus that jumped my Firewall from a Shockwave Flash-based syndicated ad about "trimming belly fat with this weird old tip" on someone's MySpace page when I was trying to upload a "Thanks for the Add!" gif. Just for that, I'm not going to click "like" on anything of theirs ever again; that'll show 'em.

I think the moral of the story is "fuck the internet" and most of the people on it, including myself.
