Up on Corner Creek

Ain't it funny, how time slips away.

In May of 2009, I first mentioned Corner Creek bourbon. At that time, the whiskey's official website was still functioning (hey, are you guys alright?), and I was still just married (hey, am I alright?).

I hadn't had a bottle of Corner Creek since I was first was exposed to it/reported on it, although it remained in my memory as creekwater to tread again, and this past week I very proudly retreaded. It definitely stands as one of my favorite bottles of the stuff at this point, as well as then.

Ben Durham, who introduced me to its wonders (and more about him soon enough), seemed to have forgotten about it when I informed him of my recent purchase, but JSH remembered it as the other bourbon packaged in a wine-looking bottle (the other being Eagle Rare). Recently in a hotel room with a woman who was not ever my wife inquired bemused about the bottle of bourbon on the dresser which was in a wine bottle.

It's good stuff people. Let me say it again.

Other voices, other rooms, another place, another time.

I looked for the Corner Creekwater while on my quest for Advocaat, but encountered dicelessness.

I almost did score a bottle o' that there Eagle Rare as a consolation prize - but then decided my next whiskey is gonna be not a bourbon at all, but some randomly chosen Irish whiskey that comes in a giant individually numbered fancy tube.

It is available in Canada through the LCBO in Ontario and at select stores in British Columbia and Nova Scotia.
